Tabitha Bigbee-Highland

Tabitha didn’t take her first ballet class until she was 22 years old at Moorpark College in Ventura County, California. But that didn’t stop her from falling completely in love and pursuing the art-form despite all odds. She trained under several amazing teachers who contributed to who she is today including Kirsten Oakley, Dennon and Sayhber Rawles and Lisa K. Lock.

She trained and was a company member at Footworks Youth Ballet and Oakley Ballet Center for four years where she danced various roles in full length classical ballets such as The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Coppelia, Giselle, La Bayadere, and Les Syphides. Tabitha also danced corps de ballet and soloist roles from shorter works such as Faust, Peter and the Wolf, Classical Symphony, and Paquita.

Tabitha was a company member of contemporary comedy company, Megill and Co. for three years enjoying contemporary/modern dance training and performing in hilarious and artistically poingnant pieces. The company performs yearly at the Rogue Fringe Festival in Fresno and throughout Southern California at many arts festivals and invite-only performances. One of Tabitha’s favorite non-ballet roles was 15 show run of “Chicago the Musical” as “June”, a.k.a. “Ten Times”, in Cell Block Tango.

Tabitha discovered the Moonridge School of Dance in fall of 2015 first as a student and substitute teacher. She quickly fell in love with all the dancers and become a regular teacher in 2016. She is delighted to be part of a ballet school dedicated to training young dancers in safe technique to protect their bodies and a healthy environment to help them grow.
